Hanky Pankies
Details
Family Recipe (originated from Pat Clements)
Ingredients
Ground beef - 1lb
Roll Sausage - 1lb
Velveeta - 1lb
Worcestershire sauce - 1 tablespoon
Oregano - a dash
Cocktail Bread - 2 loaves (Jewish rye or pumpernickel)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Cook ground beef and sausage and brown in a frying pan
Drain meat.
Combine rest of the ingredients in pan until cheese is melted.
Lay cocktail bread on a foil-lined sheet.
Spread mixture onto the top of the cocktail bread. (Small size melon scoop works well for this.)
Bake in oven for 5-10 minutes or until bread is crispy.
Freeze unbaked leftovers in plastic container or zip loc bags to use as needed. Use waxed or parchment paper in between layers before freezing. You can take from freezer and bake in oven or toaster oven later.
Notes
For best results, prepare these and freeze them before baking.
You can use spicy hot sausage to perk up the flavor.
